| Educational Background: | I graduated in Punjab in the Medical Profession in early 1970.I was born in Uganda, got my early education there and then immigrated to Punjab, India and obtained my later education there. I immigrated to Canada in 1972 and married Nash Gill at the Old Heritage Sikh Temple, Abbotsford, BC. I have always lived in the Fraser Valley; the Gill family has its roots in the Fraser Valley since 1930. I have three grown children. |

I was a member of the Abbotsford Police Board Member from 1993 to 1998. I volunteered at the Abbotsford Community Services in the areas of Victim Services and Women’s Services for the Indo-Canadians in Abbotsford, BC. I have been involved with the Indo Canadian Business Association since the inception as a President, board member and regular member. Scholarship program has been my main area of work; I have chaired this program for many years. |

| Why are you
a part of FVICBA? |
I am part of Indo-Canadian Business Association because I see this Association as a bridge linking mainstream Canadians with the Indo-Canadian society. As a group it helps the Indo-Canadian business people to put their best foot forward and to make their presence felt in the community. I am proud of the good things this association had done for the community and hope to be part of it to do good things in the future also. |
